To give Lexham Gardens personality and warmth. Although a large space, it had been rented as a long term rental, and looked quite clinical, and tired. The client wanted to test marketing the space as a short term rental, as the location was so handy for tourists.
Our idea was to introduce colour, by utilising art, vintage and contemporary pieces. It’s a great space, but needed to be apportioned in a relaxed way. The lounge required a softer feel, with the use of accessories, books, art, fun lighting, vintage furniture etc. We also added a low coffee table, which would encourage guests to sit on the rugs, creating a more informal setting.
The boldest colour was in the kitchen, where we placed a vintage yellow table and chairs. The kitchen cabinets were bright red, which worked beautifully, introducing a really happy feeling to the space, where it came alive.
“I was ‘blown away’ by the end result from Joelle and Martyn. I never thought my space could ever be termed ‘cool’, but the compliments keep rolling in, it’s been as busy as ever! Thank you!”
